We are so excited to officially begin our Distance Learning at Bailey's Upper! Your child's teacher will be contacting you soon to let you know what their schedule will look like beginning April 14th for Distance Learning. Please see below for an example of a 4th Grade Schedule.
In addition to Distance Learning beginning on April 14th through Blackboard, Instructional Services will be mailing home packets to all students that are designed for each grade level. Channel 21 will have video lessons and as always, children can read on MYON or work independently in Dreambox for math. Distance Learning does not replace the instruction provided in school; however we want to make our best effort to support students academically and emotionally during this time. What Is Distance Learning?
During the remainder of the school year, each of us will be engaged in distance learning. Distance learning is a learning experience in which teachers and students are separated by place. They communicate synchronously (through live face-to-face classes using virtual meeting technology), as well as asynchronously (through print or electronic media).
Face-to-face virtual meetings will be held primarily on a tool called Blackboard Collaborate Ultra. All class materials will be posted in FCPS 24/7 Learning(Blackboard) for distance learning.

FCPS Grab and Go Meals
Breakfast and lunch (both meals can be picked up at the same time) will be available from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Bailey's Primary Elementary School which is located at 6111 Knollwood Drive, Falls Church, Virginia. The food distribution is set up outside. Breakfast and Lunch is free for students 18 years old and younger and $2.00 for adults.
More FCPS Grab and Go Updates
FCPS transitioned many of the grab and go meal sites at school locations to curbside service.
Curbside meal pick-up stations are generally located in the bus lanes at the schools or in the kiss and ride area. Look for the canopy tent along with Food and Nutrition Services staff, who will deliver meals directly to vehicles.
Walk-ups are still welcome at all sites. Walkers are asked to use school sidewalks to safely navigate their walk to the pick-up stations.
Breakfast and lunch meals are available together and wherever meals are being distributed.
As a reminder, it is important to follow social distancing guidelines. Be sure to stand a minimum of 6 feet apart from others and practice regular hand washing, including prior to leaving a residence to pick-up meals, upon returning home, and before consuming food.
