Title I Description 

Title I is a federal grant. The purpose of this legislation is "to provide all children significant opportunities to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps."

Title I elementary schools with the highest level of poverty receive funds that are used for staff and resources to meet the needs of their students and families. Schools are identified for Title I funds based on the percentage of students eligible for free or reduced-price meal
