Across Virginia, students will be taking Standards of Learning (SOL) tests this spring. Federal
and state education departments have decided not to cancel this year’s assessments. In Fairfax
County Public Schools, testing for grades 3-8 will be scheduled between April 26 and June 4,

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) monitors student enrollment to make decisions on how best to use school spaces. Many of the elementary schools in the Justice High School pyramid have experienced an increase in student enrollment in the past several years. When a school becomes overcrowded, one way to reduce overcrowding is to adjust the school attendance boundary and re-assign some students to a different school that has more room. This is done through the boundary adjustment process. Find out more.

To support families who are working with their children during distance learning, Fairfax County Public Schools now has a Parent Technology Help Desk. The number is 1-833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS). It will be answered by staff 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. If the help desk is unable to solve the issue on the phone with the parent or guardian, they will enter a ticket on the parent’s behalf and the request for help will be transferred to the appropriate FCPS team.

Grab and Go meal sites are open 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Meal Kits sites distribute each Wednesday from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m., or until supplies are exhausted. Buses distributing meals are operating Monday through Friday. Breakfast and lunch will be available at no-cost Monday-Friday at all schools with in-person instruction.
